First Grade News--First Grade will "celebrate service" by helping family and friends with any work they have to do.

The first grade teacher is Mrs. Jessica Maines.

During the second quarter first graders are learning these concepts:

Religion: Advent and Christmas

Math: Solid figures, plane shapes, subtraction, rapid recall of facts.

Grammar: Nouns, special nouns, using "I" and "me"

Writing: Questions, Lists, Friendly Letters, Poems

Literature: Fiction and Fantasy

Social Studies:Pilgrims, Native Americans Culture, Pennsylvania, USA

Science: Predictions, Observations, Safety, Health Habits

Projects: Book Reports, Nouns Collage
